Lays Paneer Bites Recipe

A delicious and crispy snack made with Lays chips, paneer (Indian cottage cheese), and a blend of spices. Perfect for parties or as a tea-time snack!

Ingredients

(Serves 2-3)

  • 1 cup paneer (cut into small cubes)
  • 1 packet Lays chips (any flavor, but classic salted works best)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp chaat masala (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2-3 tbsp water (for the batter)
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Batter:
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cornflour, all-purpose flour, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, chaat masala, and salt.
  • Add water gradually to make a smooth, thick batter. The batter should coat the paneer cubes well.
  1. Crush the Lays Chips:
  • Take the Lays chips and crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor. Transfer the crumbs to a plate.
  1. Coat the Paneer Cubes:
  • Dip each paneer cube into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  • Roll the coated paneer cube in the crushed Lays chips, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs stick well. Repeat for all paneer cubes.
  1. Fry the Paneer Bites:
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  • Once the oil is hot, carefully drop the coated paneer cubes into the oil. Fry until golden and crispy (about 2-3 minutes).
  • Remove and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  1. Serve:
  • Serve hot with mint chutney, ketchup, or your favorite dip.

Tips

  • For a healthier version, you can air-fry or bake the paneer bites at 180°C for 10-12 minutes.
  • Add a pinch of ajwain (carom seeds) to the batter for extra flavor.
  • Experiment with different Lays flavors like masala or sour cream for a unique twist.

Enjoy your crunchy and cheesy Lays Paneer Bites! 😊
